I am under the belief that I attract fail. There's no other explanation for what I've seen in the past week. But what tops all of it (in my opinion), from the name calling to the general fail of a Mary Sue, is this:
I. AM. NOT. AN. RP. SLAVE.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but I don't sit at my computer salivating for the chance to RP with someone. I don't. Even when I go out of my way to find a 1x1 partner somewhere, I don't sit in my chair, bouncing up and down thinking "OH WHEN WILL S/HE REPLY SO MY LIFE CAN BE COMPLETE?!" And it's really, really annoying when people expect me to drop everything and run to their post. It's also really annoying when someone ignores me OOC (and I love OOC chit-chat, something I tell everyone I RP with) except to demand a post.
No. That just pisses me off. And now I feel just the slightest bit better.

I can't get a break
Hello, former soundmonkey here. While not at college listening to people and dealing with idiots, I'm at home for the summer...listening to people and dealing with idiots. I'm currently employed for the duration of summer break at a branch of my city's park department which I feel I need to keep confidential in order to keep my job. I doubt that any of the drunken hicks that I encounter look at this community much less know what "That-thar-flickerin'-box in the corner do", but for the sake of my books next semester, I feel I should probably keep everything on the down low.

few HBC questions
hi everyone! i've got a few birth control questions and i was hoping you guys could help me out...
1. I seem to have an issue with remembering to take my pill every night. I'm on Femcon Fe and I take it at 11 p.m. every night. I've been on HBC for a little under a year but recently i just keep missing pills. it's not unusual for me to miss 2 pills a month. (i generally take the pill the next morning when i wake up if i've forgotten to take it the night before.) I was just wondering if anyone had any tips to help make sure i take my pill at the same time every day.
2. I switched to Femcon after being on Loestrin for a few months and having some serious issues with spotting. The past two months I have started my period early, and my period has lasted through the week of the placebo pills. Generally, my periods are very short on HBC. I started my period yesterday, but I shouldn't have started until this coming Sunday. Do you think this is due to missed pills? Or is it time to call my gyno and try a different pill?

The purpose of fanfiction is not to wave it around in people's faces to show off how much smarter you are than other people.
Frilly obscure words and interesting parallels are one thing. Making the fic so thick with them that it's utterly incomprehensible is another. A common word used interestingly is far more arty than an uncommon word used for the sake of it.
I'm not saying not to use words that your readers will have to look up, but the purpose of fic isn't to beat off with your thesaurus in order to show off how incredibly, irresistibly awesome you are.
Also, using enormous amounts of Russian words where it's neither for effect or because there's no English equivalent to the word is just extremely annoying for those of us who don't speak Russian. You wouldn't accept fangirl Japanese, so quit it.

(anti) Yeast Diet
Does anyone have any experience with anti-yeast diets?
I have frequent yeast infections (used to be almost every month, but I had to take some antibiotics in april and they have become more frequent - like I will treat for a week, be okay for a week, and then it'll be back) and am very frustrated. I do not have any underlying STIS, have tried various treatments (monistat, diflucan, garlic in the vag, boric acid capsules, gentian violet) but nothing seems to keep it away for more than a week or two. I do pretty much all the things that are recommended to avoid yeast: cotton underwear, no soap on the vulva, non-glycerin lube, and condoms to avoid passing it back and forth with my male partner.
My doctor has suggested I read This book, but I am skeptical. It claims that eliminating nearly everything that I love to eat (bread, fruit, vinegar, cheese, sugar, alcohol, etc) will not only eliminate YIs, but cure allergies, asthma, depression, chronic pain, and, in the updated edition, fatness. Even if I ignore it's miracle claims, the dietary restrictions are pretty strict, and as I'm already a vegetarian, will be difficult to implement (I only browsed the book at the bookstore, but it looked pretty meat-centric).
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of diet? Did it work/not work? Any other suggestions for dealing with chronic yeast?

Dear Bleach fandom Yes, I know, why haven't I learned my lesson yet?
I doubt that Ichigo or Renji would have hands that are completely smooth and blemish free. They are both swordsmen who are going to have callused hands. The same goes for any of the other Shinigami. Yes, even Yumichika is going to have callused hands, since he is a swordsman. Even Ishida is going to have calluses, since he has to pull back on a bowstring repeatedly. Why are so many characters given perfectly smooth hands in fanfic, as if they haven't lifted a sword in their lives?
This actually applies to any fandom where the characters wield swords, knives, bows, guns etc. Please, think about this before you write.

Perhaps, but you still can't say "His sagely legs carried him betwixt the forest." That's just WRONG.

stimulation after pregnancy
Hey everyone :) I'm 22 and just had a baby a little over 2 months ago. I've noticed that my clitoris isn't nearly as sensitive as it used to be..is this a normal thing?
I would think that area would be unaffected, as it was not the part squeezing out a 9lb baby.. lol. This may actually be a good thing as my boyfriend is rough, no matter how many times I tell him "lighter." I can still reach orgasm, but the sensation seems different. Maybe I am still healing? I don't know?? *shrug*

Harry Potter fandom, why can't I just leave you for good?
Okay, I know I'm asking for it when I go poking around the Harry Potter section on FFN, but this one really, really broke my brain.
Really, the whole thing was just so OOC I nearly cried. I couldn't even finish it. Also, on a completely different note, what's with everybody writing Sirius and Remus doing it on James's bed? They have beds of their own, you know. Yeah, it's funny every now and again, but it's in something like eight out of every ten fics for them.

Hi, BRPS. Question and a small rant.
Have you ever had someone get pissed at you for joining as a character they like (but for some reason haven't apped themselves)? And then proceed to bug you anonymously for it?
To you: stop being a begrudging little shit and go away. I like to think I'm a good roleplayer, as I've participated in HMD posts in numerous games and the worst I've gotten was "you're being a little too serious with..." I like my roleplaying. I'm not claiming to be the most amazingly IC player ever, but I consider myself "good". You don't, apparently, because you don't like me OOC. Someone call the waaahmbulance.
I'm pretty sure I know who it is, but I want to handle it myself instead of bringing it to a mod. Good idea, Y/N?

Off HBC
Hi, I read the posts under the HBC tag but couldn't find an answer to my question.
I was on HBC for 2 years (the second year on Yaz) and I stopped taking it last month, when I finished the card. My period is now 5 days late--is this normal? Will my period be a bit crazy for a while?

Writing help
I need to do some solid, hardcore nonfiction writing.
And I'm drawing a complete and utter blank on wtf to write about. My brain is barely working this week. NOT HELPFUL.
So tell me what to write about. Vote for an idea (I know, they sort of bite, but I told you, I'm blocked) and then give me another idea. Give me a writing assignment. It can be on any topic you like..anything at all. I just have to get writing again.
Come on, you know you want to. Think of it as revenge for all those writing assignments you were given in high school, on random topics. Make me work for it, people. Make me get off my lazy butt and start writing again!

One of my worst experiences - but certainly not the last
I am a manager at a large corporate pharmacy chain. I am currently writing a book on my experiences but thought I would share one of my personal gross-out stories - which was no easy task to choose. I've been robbed, flashed, fornicated in front of, puked on, you name it.
We have an eccentric regular customer who causes us a lot of heartache. Let's call her Maddie. Maddie always talks about her dead cat and how it is smarter than anyone she knows because it knits with her. From beyond the grave. Anyway, she is always assigned a personal shopper to keep her out of trouble. I happened to be assigned on a particular day. She started with the usual, harassing other customers about sugar intake and the poisons found in peanuts and human hair in nutritional drinks. I quietly escorted her away from the other customers. The trip passed relatively uneventfully until we got to the last aisle. With speed I would associate more with a gazelle than an 80 year old woman, she stampeded another older woman who was looking at popcorn. "Don't eat that! Don't buy it! It will give you cancer!" she screamed, waving her arms in a most panicked fashion. The other customer shot me a disturbed look. Sighing, I tried to comfort Maddie and get her to move along. She slapped my arm away. "No! No, don't you believe me? Want me to show you? Do you?" And before I could stop her, she had lifted her shirt over her head and stood, naked breasts to the world, in all of her triumph. I was flabbergasted. I never thought I'd see old woman boobs until I saw my own in about 50 years. They were wrinkled, saggy, spotted, and just about the most god awful things I had ever seen. Snapping out of my daze and closing my mouth before I caught flies in it, I shouted for her to put her shirt back on. She was flashing a good dozen patrons and showed no sign of tiring. Eventually she stopped smiling long enough to grab her shirt. "Sure, honey, let's go!" she chirped, leading the way out the front doors.
Ah, retail. Gotta love it.
